Assignment 14 -Michael Dickson

Thanksgiving is one of the best times of the year. Food, family, fall, food (wow, a lot of alliteration there). It's pretty great, especially for my family. Every year we go down to my grandfathers house in Richmond. He has about six acres so its always breathtaking. We play board games for a few hours (scrabble, Pictionary, etc.) then we gather around the dinner table to eat. We always have a big ham (because turkey is fairly tasteless), canned cranberry sauce, stuffing, cornbread, and my grandmother makes this amazing apple pie.
One of my favorite memories of thanksgiving is shortly after my grandfather got his new dog Toby. Toby is a Burnese mountain dog and beautiful!!! but that's beside the point. Anyway, the ham had just come out of the oven and we were waiting for it to cool down so we went into the other room to talk for a few minutes. Suddenly my grandfather noticed that Toby wasn't in the room. He called for him and, lo and behold, here comes Toby, half a ham hanging out of his mouth. He looked at us with an expression that said "look what I found just laying around! It's tasty!"
So that's my thanksgiving story. hope you liked it.
