Lucy Macfarlan-Flying Turkeys 14

From what I can tell in the blog posts thus far, Thanksgiving seems to be a fairly polarizing holiday, but for me it is usually fairly insignificant. Because so many members of my family don't live in Lexington,  it just ends up being a couple of us at my grandmother's house for a late lunch/early dinner. I personally have a bit of a beef with Thanksgiving(this is a funny joke and you'll see why in a minute) because I can't eat gluten and I'm a vegetarian . I don't know if you've ever noticed this but basically everything on the typical Thanksgiving  agenda includes one of those things so for me, it's not the big eating holiday filled with delicious food that it is for everyone else. So it doesn't sound so great so far but every so often we have a Thanksgiving like this years where  a couple of my mom's siblings(she has five) come into town with their families. This year my cousin, Isabella, who lives in Brooklyn with her mom most of the year and lives in Lexington for the summer and most breaks came into town with her godawful mother(Isabella and I are sep cousins, her father is married to my aunt but has Isabella from a previous marriage to a gremlin).  Isabella and I grew up together and are best friends so any excuse for her to come into town is a good excuse for me. Go Thanksgiving!
