My Thanksgiving dinner was pretty nice. I ate a lot of mashed potatoes, and saw my family. The holiday to me, is kind of on the fence, because I don't necessarily like or dislike it. I like it because everyone gets together and you see your family, but at the same time I dislike it for the same reason. It's that with holidays like this, it's an excuse to see your family, which is nice, but after that you think after half a day of eating dinner you can leave for the rest of the year. You don't call or write back, you just see on the calender,  "Oh, Thanksgiving is coming up. Better ask whose house it's gonna be at, and then go." If you really loved your family, you would go on any other day, and not feel burdened to have to go on a holiday. That being said, because it is a national holiday, it's also the most convenient time for everyone to get off of work and school. This way, if you miss seeing your family on Thanksgiving, it's not really the end of the world, and also, if you actually liked seeing your family, you'd go more often than one day of the year.
