Assignment 3 Thomas Kenny

The concept of good versus evil is a clash of two sides who both think that their philosophy is superior to all others. In the end, “good guys vs. bad guys” is a matter of perspective. This is in the context of reality, as many (but not all) characters in literature and film are shallow in their moral compasses. More often than not, those on either side of the conflict whole-heartedly believe that they are the good guys fighting the bad guys. One example from the world right now is the situation concerning ISIS in the Middle East. Most of the world sees this group as a terrorist organization that wants to destroy Western Civilization. However, they see themselves as fighting for the sovereignty of the Muslim faith, a holy endeavor. As long as there are two sides to an argument, there will be good and evil. Those who are in the "grey area" will often move to one side or the other when exposed to new information, as a person or character might switch from good to evil such as Anakin Skywalker in the Star Wars film series.
