Assignment 12: Brave Little Toasters- Tora Sellers

All of the members of the toaster gang hated bread. The gang war is already in its second year, with no end in sight.  The origin of the conflict has always been unclear; Toasters say bread made the first hit, and they were just retaliating—others doubt this claim. Marcel the shell was a kitchen decoration. He has witnessed the gang violence in the kitchen from the very beginning. His turf is often used as neutral ground for the two sides to negotiate. But there have been no negotiations in over six months, and the violence escalates every day. It started off as a symbiotic relationship, where the toaster would toast the bread. The toasters believe the relationship was more parasitic than mutually beneficial, and began trapping the bread within themselves, torching them until they were spit out onto the kitchen floor, charred, mutilated, and lifeless.  That’s when the real war began: automatic weapons fired across the kitchen table; bullets exchanged, bodies upon bodies received. Even Marcel the Shell, gave up on his own once-immense powers of influence that he use to have as a third party before the heavy carnage began…everyone wishes to stop finding the corpses of their loved ones in the streets, but nothing changes. It just gets worse.
