Lucy Macfarlan Entry 2

To write this entry, I feel like it's important to create a working definition, because colloquially we often use it differently than the way it is literally defined. So, for the sake of this particular argument, I will define it as electronic equipment, particularly computers, the internet, and other communication devices. I feel as though I can say with some confidence that I am much less invested in technology than many people (especially teenagers). So, with that said, it seems fairly obvious that I don't have an incredibly well formed or specific opinion on it; I could take or leave a lot of it, it hasn't ever affected me in any sort of overwhelmingly positive or negative way. However, I am definitely able to see the huge benefit that it has been for our society, especially in the medical field. We also have much more access to information about the world around us and what is happening in places that aren't our own local (or relatively local) communities. This gives a lot of perspective and gratitude for how incredibly privileged we are.
If I had been born 20 years earlier I don't think that my way of interacting with others would be that different, but it would be much more difficult to make plans on short notice, or to just meet up with people when you're out. I don't have an opinion on which I would prefer because I wouldn't any other way so would never have a way to know what I was missing out on.
