Iwrite: Sydney Taylor

Technology among teenagers today is one of the most irritating things. I'm not saying it isn't convenient. There has been many a time when I pulled out my phone and pretended to be typing a message so as to avoid talking to someone, and having pretty much everything I need for school, news, and entertainment at my fingertips never gets old. But at this point, I feel like I almost can't have a real conversation with anyone because of the constant distraction that is the iPhone. I don't want to have to text someone to get their attention when I'm sitting in the same room as them. Sadly, that is what it has come to. Besides that, it has nearly eliminated the need for interaction with other human beings, leads to miscommunication in the context of peoples' messages, and has become the focal point of peoples' daily routines. So to say the least, technology, specifically the iPhone, has definitely affected my life, but I think I could have survived without it.
