Technology has had a pretty big impact on my life, mostly positive. While it's true that technology has had some down sides, in my experience it's been a huge benefit. I've moved several times in my life, 10 houses and 4 states. When you've lived in as many places as I have, you tend to acquire a decent amount of friends. Before modern technology, it wasn't nearly as easy to keep up with these friends across the country or even the world. You'd send letters and then wait a few weeks to get a response. Without them being near you, you weren't nearly as involved in their lives and they weren't as involved in yours. Whereas today, we have the ability to keep up with them instantaneously and on a daily basis. It's easier to maintain these spread out friendships and keep in touch. Because of this I can talk to my friends in Denver and my friend in Paris everyday. They're still a major part of my life and I'm still a major part of theirs, because of technology. And that's a pretty positive impact.
