Assignment 2 Thomas Kenny

All my life I’ve been a competitor. I was one of the toddlers that you would see racing their parents to the car after a trip to the grocery store. I was raised with competitive sports, and played them all of my life. Unfortunately, after one too many collisions at home plate; one too many awkward rebounds; one too many knocks on the head, my body can’t keep up with the competition any more. Along with baseball and basketball, I really liked to sit down after a practice and play video games. As technology has evolved in the 21st century, the video game industry has tagged along, arriving at a point where spectators are crowding into the Staples Center to watch the League of Legends championship as if it were Kobe Bryant playing with a mouse and keyboard. The advancements in technology and their applications in video games have filled the hole that injury left in my competitive spirit. Even though hitting a walk-off in baseball might not be as exciting as winning the last team-fight, it creates the same feeling of glorious victory.
