Assignment 2: iwrite - Keionna Bailey

Living in the 21st century has definitely been a blessing. I've had the privilege of interacting with friends and family within 30 seconds and also getting to know others through social media. I couldn't imagine growing up in any earlier time period. I don't think I would have the close relationships with my friends as I do now. Being a teen in this era and in any era is tough when you don't always have a ride to places. If I really want to see friends or family I can Facetime them or videochat. I don't always have to see them in person. And 20 years ago the only technology that I know they had was huge block cellphones that you could only call people on and although there were computers they weren't that common in the average household nor could they do all the things that our laptops and tablets can do now.

I feel that if I was growing up in the 1990s I would most likely not be as outgoing and sociable as I am now because it would be too difficult to keep in touch with others. I like growing up in this era because everything is readily available to me and faster. This assignment is better because it's electronic and you don't have to sit and grade papers all day. I do like how I was able to see the transformation of technology with my own eyes. I remember watching VHS tapes with my sister and now I can buy movies on my TV. I also remember my very first cellphone, it was thick and bold with a tiny screen. Now its touchscreen, more compact, I have apps(I don't even think we had those when I was in elementary school), a camera, and so much more. Technology is evolving and I'm lovin' it.
