October 2nd 1950: First strip of the Charlie
Brown comic is published in 9 papers. This is a good event, as this comic later
to be known as “Peanuts” was immensely popular and read by millions over the
years. I personally don’t care for this comic very much, as I was not very
interested in comics as a child. I much preferred cartoons, sports, and video
games. However, I understand how influential Charlie Brown was and can
appreciate this event despite my apathy towards it. The Charlie Brown Christmas
movie is legendary as far as festive entertainment goes. Its characters are
still used today, as evidenced by Metlife Insurance’s advertisements. If you
spend enough time looking you’ll probably even find a grade school student with
a Charlie Brown lunchbox. Mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa mwa.
