Changes! - Keanu Gomez
The issue of piracy is common and known to many people.
Whether it be illegally watching a movie online, or downloading a song for
free, it is considered as piracy. Many people are aware of the consequences of
piracy, but most people show complete disregard for the issue and continue
pirating materials online. Online stores are taking more precautions to reduce
this issue by enacting stricter download policies and procedures. Despite all
of this, the issue continues and it has not been completely eliminated. The
solution is simple, however. Since a great percentage of piracy occurs online,
why not just attack the source? Since artists and producers are being cheated
by these file sharing systems, why not shut them down? To prevent files from
being stolen, we can just shut down the internet. I mean, it wouldn’t be that
bad right? Humans lived and thrived on this Earth for many, many years preceding
the creation of the World Wide Web. So if it were to be shut down, human
civilization can and will still continue. Except, there would no longer be any
online piracy and artists would be granted the respect and even greater money
that they deserve.
