Help!- Mikaela Gatewood

I've really enjoyed your class this year, which I expected. However, what I was not expecting was how much I would grow as a writer. Past middle school, I wasn't taught how to write an essay in detail. And even then, what I was taught in middle school was how to write a rigidly structured 5 paragraph essay, something that ended up hurting me once I got to junior year. Going over our essays in class, while sometimes embarrassing, was extremely helpful. It's true that only a handful of people talked or gave comments, but that was much more feedback than I had ever received on my essay before. Not only that, but editing several throughout the year allowed for me to pick out and hone in on my weaknesses much easier. I also enjoyed that you taught to the test. The variety of essays that were taught made me much more comfortable writing different types of pieces, as well as thoroughly prepared for the test. All in all, thanks for a great year and being the best English teach I've had in a while, Mr. Logsdon.
