Assignment 25: Stress - Thomas Stokes

Stress is a big deal to bearly every student around this time of the school year. You're finishing the year and the giant wall of finals shows up and is your last hurdle. Unless you have one of those math teachers that'll keep teaching even though the test is over and there's nothing to truly cover. This last giant leap tends to freak people out, undersrandably. AP tests mean more than the end, they're permanent scores on how you did, and can help you accelerate yourself through certain classes in college. This opportunity is immense and not everyone is the greatest at bearing that kind of weight on their shoulders. As far as dissipating this stress goes, I do three things. Firstly, I study what I dont really remember from the year, or anything in general. It helps to be in the comfort of learning when these tests are coming up. Secondly, when the tests are closer, like one or two days out, I just accept that I know what I know and just have to, at that point, try my best at the test. Thirdly, I like to just spend time with friends and relax. The worst thing you can do is walk into the test a nervous wreck. It's okay to be nervous going into the test, everyone will be. But don't lose your focus and get all tense over these tests. When you take them, have faith in your own ability, and give it your all, at that point, its all you can do anyway.
