Lucy Macfarlan plastics

I have received so much advice in my life that it's hard to wittle it down to one single moment that changed its course. However, after lots of careful thought (this is an interesting prompt and I wanted to really put some effort in to it) I've come to the conclusion that one of the most important and life trajectory changing pieces of advice I've recieved was from my aunt Andrea who told me that the key to making friends and always being comfortable in a new environment was to remember that everyone is just as uncomfortable as you are and to try to stop thinking of yourself and start thinking of what you can do to make everyone else feel comfortable. It might seem silly, and I can't always do it, but for it really works when I do. I'm obviously not shy or awkward but sometimes I get sort of uncomfortable in certain situations and when I do, I always go back to this idea which truly relations to the most important life advice, "think more about others and less about yourself."
