2: If you could invite four historical figures of any kind to a dinner party, who would they be? What would you serve? What music would be playing?
3: Is it pretentious to wear a Brothers Karamazov t-shirt in public?
2: For whatever reason, I have been obsessing over this question for the entirety of fall break trying to figure out how I can gain the most insight possible from the four people I choose to invite to my dinner party. I can't afford to choose people from whom I won't be able to glean anything, but I also want to have some semblance of variety in my selections. After some contemplation, I finalized my list: Jesus, Siddhartha Gautama, Ken Kesey, and James Joyce. No, there really isn't much variety here, but there is instead thousands of years of important knowledge and philosophy. As for food, I would have a simple selection of cheeses and bread and wine and beer (I might have to slip in some Acid Orange Juice for Kesey). Either Ricky Eat Acid's album Three Love Songs or Alex G's TRICK would be my music choice, followed by Depeche Mode's Violator or Have a Nice Life's Deathconciousness respectively.
