My Thanksgiving looks very similar
to any other traditional Thanksgiving celebration. Turkey and stuffing, mashed
potatoes, corn & green beans, fresh rolls, and other scrumptious dishes
fill the table. But there is something… off about the scene in my house.
Something about the lighting is different than most dinner scenes. The thing
that makes our Thanksgiving different is that we eat it at half past noon.
Seeing as how either one or both of my parents has to work on Thanksgiving
afternoon & evening, more often than not we celebrate and feast during
lunch rather than dinner in order to be together for the holiday. Even though
the time of day is different, it’s still as delicious as it would be at any
other time of the day; especially since we always make double portions of rolls
to appease my carbo-holic diet. Unfortunately, due to the ensuing food coma, we
throw off our sleep schedules by napping for the entire afternoon.
